Dr. Sumaiya Islam earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Dhaka, Bangladesh) in 2015. She moved to the United States for her graduate studies in 2016. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University (Auburn, AL) in 2022, under the supervision of Dr. Pantazes. Her doctoral study was based on statistical analysis to understand how point mutations affect therapeutic protein functions. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow working on projects studying the binding of MHC molecules to antigenic peptides.
